Update - Nov 4 2022 - Core Rulebook update!
It's been more than a little while since I released the first draft of Echoes of the Broken, but after more than 2 years of silence, I've finally made additional progress on it! I have completed the layout of the core rulebook, moving it from a bland google doc to a fully-designed page layout. I've even added a bunch of temporary artwork (simple pen sketches that will suffice until I have funding for more professional artwork to accompany the original artwork produced by the talented Avery Coleman). In addition, there has been some rewriting and editing of various sections.
So, actual game content hasn't changed much, but the visual upgrade goes a long way to make this feel closer to a finish project.
What's next from here? To be honest, I'm not really all that sure what else this game needs, overall — but there are a few items I know I'd like to produce.
- More graphic elements and examples — especially to support the worldbuilding tools.
- Completed examples of the worldbuilding - perhaps a full region as you might generate for a single campaign.
- More lore stuff.
- A premade adventure to get players started
- A sub-system for hunting and taking down a Harbinger.
There is probably more I could develop here, but I'll work on that core list, for now.
If you've had a chance to run Echoes of the Broken with your own group, I'd love to hear how it's going. I've not really done a formal public playtest for this game, so I have no idea what kind of experience other players have had.
